News & Site Updates
December 2007
Season's Greetings! Where has this year gone? I have finally gotten around to building an Etsy Shop to sell some of my excess knitting and handspun yarns. I'm also going to be offering some smaller sized photographs on the site. I had originally intended to just offer my photographs so set the account up using my photography website name, Uncommon Depth.
I've also added something new to the products page. I've had this idea for awhile but wasn't sure if there would be any demand for it or not. I'm still not sure but am going to offer my services as a spinning tutor. There are a lot of people who are taking the Master Spinners program, and a lot who are challenging. I know when I was taking the program there were times I would have been happy to pay someone for their expertise. So I'm offering paid hourly sessions for your very own personal spinning tutor.

It is confirmed that I will be teaching Level 3 of the Master Spinners course at Olds College in July 2008.
I have added a new almost free pattern to the products page. These patterns are available for download in PDF format from Lulu for $1.50. The nominal fee is just to prevent misuse of the pattern.

The blog is gone for good. I just wasn't dedicated enough to keep it going. Life has gotten incredibly busy the last few years, so rather than see the blog sitting idle I've removed it completely.
I'm a woman torn between 2 loves. My fibre time has been occupied for the past couple years or so with organizing Fibre Week workshops for Olds College, and writing the level 3 content for their Master Spinners program. Last year you could also add in finishing my in-depth study for that same program. So the fact that I'm suffering a bit of burn out is, I hope, understandable.
Although I continue my work in the fibre arts, the main focus of my attention has been swinging towards my other love. I have been dedicating more and more of my time to photography. I continue to juggle the two, but the bias is definitely leaning the other way. I'm hoping by taking this break I'll be able to recharge the fibre arts battery a bit. My work for Olds College isn't over yet though, so that battery may be recharging for awhile.

We have great skies here in Rocky Mountain House. Our weather can best be described as dramatic. We can have rain in January and snow in July. We've had tornados, floods, and been frozen for 9 months in a row. Complaining about the weather is almost like a regional pasttime!
